8 Days 7 Nights Tanzania Safari with Beach Extension

The Safari across Tanzania offers a comprehensive Tanzanian wildlife and beach adventure. You'll explore four of Tanzania's most exceptional wilderness areas and conclude your journey on the enchanting Zanzibar Island. If you prefer experiencing Africa in a straightforward manner, with an emphasis on remarkable wildlife sightings and stunning locations, then this is the perfect choice for you.

Day 1: Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park

Upon arrival, either at the airport / a central location within Arusha town, there will be meet and greet by one of Grayton Expeditions representatives. Departing for Lake Manyara National Park in the morning. After checking in the park the day's game drive kicks off where you might see wild animals such as ; Wildebeest, Zebra, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelle, Plain Zebras, Bushbuck, Waterbuck among others. You might spot bird species such as the Ground Hornbill, Marabou stork, Grey heron, Vultures among others. You shall check into the hotel for lunch and refreshment and relaxation. Head out for an evening game drive where you shall have a chance to visit Lake Manyara. At the lake you shall have a chance to see Hippos in there pool, Elephants on the shores of the lake, Hyena, Serval cat, Honey badger, African Civet, Mongoose, Cheetah, Leopard, Jackal among other wild animals. Birds species likely to be spotted within the lakes shore include; Great and Lesser flamingos, Northern Shoveler, Yellow-billed stork, Pelican, Black-winged slit, Pied Avocet, Caspian plover, Ruff, Common gull billed tern among others. Head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. Expected arrival time at Serengeti National Park. After checking in the park you shall enjoy a game drive as you transit to check in to the hotel. You might have a chance to spot wild animals such as Giraffe, Elephants, Hippos, Migratory Wildebeest, Plain zebras, Heartbest, Duikers among others. Bird species that you might encounter include: Hadada ibis, Lapwings, Longcraws, Spoonbills, Starling, Weaver Common Bulbul, Crown crane among others. Head back to the hotel for lunch before resuming back for an evening game drive. Spot vegetation’s such as Thorny acacia, Baobab tree, Palm tree among others not forgetting flat swamps in the park where you can spot different birds species such as Yellow Collared lovebirds, Red billed Hornbill, ground Hornbill, Liac breasted rollers, Ostriches, Pelicans, Shoe bills among others. 1800hrs.you shall be transferred back to the hotel where you shall check in and prepare for tomorrow’s tour to Ngorongoro conservation area.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

At the hotel you shall be served with breakfast at early morning. And later check out of the hotel and derive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After checking in at Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you shall kick off to a morning game drive, where you might spot wild animals such as: Lions on hunt, Hyenas scavenging a carcass, Giraffes, Migratory wildebeest, Plain zebras, among other herbivores roaming on the savannah grassland. 1230hrs. you shall check in to a hotel for lunch and refreshment. You shall relax for 2 hours before resuming back for an evening game drive then afterwards, drive Olduvai Gorge pre-historic site, where remains of the old man have been preserved dating millions of years. You shall learn how man evolved till present. You will also have a chance to see the art crafts used for hunting, making fire, defense among others. 1600hrs. You shall check out of Olduvai Gorge pre-historic site and kick off to an evening game drive, where you might spot wild animals such as: Rhinos, Buffaloes, Leopards, African wild dogs and bird species such as: The Kori bustand, Ostriches, Secretary birds, Crown Crane, Vultures, Hornbills and plant species such as : Acacia, Euphobia, Cactus, Shrubs, among others. 1800hrs.You shall be transferred back to the hotel where you shall check in and prepare for tomorrow’s departure to Tarangire National Park.

Day 4: Tarangire National Park

You will begin your day at the hotel with breakfast. Afterward, check out of your hotel and leave for Tarangire National Park, which is approximately a 3-hour drive away. Once you've completed the park entry formalities, you'll enjoy a game drive as you make your way to the hotel. By 12:30 PM, you'll arrive at the hotel for lunch and a chance to freshen up. You'll have a relaxing break of 3 hours before resuming the evening game drive at 3:30 PM. During this game drive, you might have the opportunity to spot a variety of wild animals, including Elephants, Buffalos, Waterbucks, Giraffes, Dikdiks, Impalas, and more. The park also hosts a wide range of bird species, such as the Pied kingfisher, Pygmy falcon, Hornbill, Storks, and reptiles like the climbing tree venomous Cobra, Tortoise, and Agama lizards. The dominant flora in this park includes Baobabs, Acacia trees, Red oak Savannah grass, and various shrubs, later head out for an evening game drive, which promises exciting wildlife encounters. Afterward, at 6:00 PM, you'll be transferred back to your hotel to prepare for your journey to Zanzibar tomorrow. The highlight of your Tarangire National Park experience will be as you depart from the park to the Airstrip for a domestic scheduled flight to Zanzibar, arriving in the early afternoon. Upon arrival at Zanzibar International Airport, you'll be transferred to a hotel for lunch and some relaxation. Later, you can choose to unwind at the resort and take a refreshing swim in the hotel pool.

Day 5: Jozani Chaka National Park.

You'll be collected from your hotel and taken to Jozani Chwaka National Park for a captivating 2-hour nature walk and sightseeing experience. During your visit, there's a chance to encounter the rare and endangered Red-Columbus monkeys as they gracefully traverse from tree branch to tree branch. Be on the lookout for other small mammals like Bush babies as well. The park is also home to a diverse array of bird species, including Egyptian geese, White-backed ducks, African pygmy-geese, Red-billed ducks, Crested guinea fowl, Blue quail, Rock pigeons, and more. Take a moment to appreciate the vibrant butterflies and the towering palm trees that enhance the park's natural splendor.

SPICE PLANTATION VISIT.
At 11:00 AM, you will be transported to a Spice Plantation, where you will check in and immerse yourself in the sensory experience of spices. During your visit, which will last for a couple of hours, you'll have the opportunity to touch, smell, and taste an array of spices, including Cinnamon, Cloves, Nutmeg, and Pepper. Additionally, you'll gain insights into the medicinal uses of these spices and sample tropical fruits. This visit will also offer you a chance to interact with the local Arab community. By 1:00 PM, you will return to the hotel for lunch and a period of relaxation. At 2:00 PM, you will complete the hotel check-out process and head to the ocean shores. There, you can partake in various water activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, sunbathing, dolphin spotting, and playing in the waves. In the evening, you'll savor a seafood feast by the sea.

Day 6: Explore Zanzibar Stone Town.

OLD FORT OF ZANZIBAR.
At 9:00 AM, you will leave your hotel and then be drive to the Old Fort of Zanzibar. During this 2-hour visit, you will delve into the rich history of this monument, which dates back to 1699 when it was constructed by the Arabs following the expulsion of the Portuguese. Explore the fort's various uses, from serving as a prison and barracks during the Portuguese occupation to its role in the construction of the railway. Discover its present-day usage by the Zanzibar government.

HOUSE OF WONDERS.
At 11:00 AM, you will be transported to the House of Wonders, renowned for having the widest doors in East Africa. During a 2-hour visit, you will delve into the history of this house, learning about its construction by the Arabs after they wrested control of the island from the Portuguese. Discover how it initially served as a residence for the Sultan's family and later transformed into a governmental facility for Zanzibar. At 1:00 PM, you will return to the hotel for a leisurely lunch and relaxation. By 2:00 PM, you will complete the hotel check-out process and proceed to the ocean shores. Here, you will partake in various water activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, sunbathing, dolphin watching, and playing in the waves. Later in the evening, you'll indulge in a seafood feast by the sea.

Days 7: The Old Despensary.

After breakfast, you will picked and transported to The Old Dispensary. Here, you will have a 2-hour opportunity to explore the history of the dispensary's construction, which was initially built to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, and learn about its use as a charitable hospital for the less fortunate, as originally intended by the Queen.

MNARANI AQUARIUM TURTLE CONSERVANCY.
At 10:00 AM, you will be taken to Mnarani Aquarium Turtles, where you'll have the opportunity to feed the turtles and gain insights into their life cycle. By 1:00 PM, you'll be transported back to the hotel to savor lunch, and you can spend the remainder of the afternoon relishing the refreshing ocean breeze

Day 8: Zanzibar.

After breakfast, you shall check out of the hotel, where you may opt to do shopping at a mall on your way as you are transferred to Zanzibar International Airport to catch your international flight.
