The iconic Masai Mara, with its sweeping savannahs and remarkable wildlife, including the Big Five and the Great Migration, provides thrilling game drives and unforgettable moments. This safari seamlessly blends the allure of Kenya's natural beauty, from mountainous heights to tranquil lakeshores and the wild plains, making it a well-rounded and memorable African adventure.

Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Mount Kenya National Park

At the break of day, following a hearty breakfast, you will embark on a journey northward, bound for the captivating Mount Kenya National Park. Mount Kenya stands as the second-highest peak in all of Africa, offering a pristine wilderness characterized by a captivating array of lakes, tarns, glaciers, dense forests, mineral springs, and a habitat that shelters rare and endangered animal species.

Within the park's boundaries, you can encounter a rich diversity of wildlife, including majestic elephants, agile tree hyraxes, the elusive white-tailed mongoose, the diminutive suni, the black-fronted duiker, the industrious mole rat, stately bushbucks, the regal waterbuck, and the towering elands. In addition to these, the park is also known to host less frequently spotted animals such as leopards, bongos, and the elusive giant forest hog. Overnight Accommodation at booked lodge.

Day 2: Mount Kenya National Park – Drive to Lake Naivasha

Leave Mount Kenya behind as we journey towards Lake Naivasha, with a captivating stopover at the Great Rift Valley. Here, we pause to soak in the stunning scenery, offering an ideal opportunity for photographing the dramatic escarpment. Continuing our adventure, we make a brief visit to the charming Italian church, conveniently situated nearby. In the afternoon, we indulge in a game viewing walk on Crescent Island, a privately owned sanctuary located on the eastern shore of Lake Naivasha. This idyllic peninsula offers easy sightings of various wildlife species, including graceful giraffes, stately wildebeests, elegant waterbucks, majestic elands, zebras, and agile impalas. It also stands as a haven for bird enthusiasts, with a remarkable record of over 200 bird species observed in the area. Overnight at booked lodge/ resort.

Day 3:Explore Lake Naivasha

Following breakfast, embark on a visit to Hell's Gate National Park, equipped with a packed lunch for the excursion. This unique park offers the option to explore on foot or by bicycle, providing a refreshing and active way to experience the natural surroundings.

Renowned for its natural hot geysers and serving as a breeding ground for eagles and vultures, Hell's Gate National Park offers a variety of activities for visitors to choose from, including driving, hiking, camping, cycling, and rock climbing. Within the park, you'll discover several notable landmarks, including Fischer's Tower, which was once a volcano's plug, the imposing Central Tower, and the picturesque Njorowa Gorges. Additionally, the park features two dormant volcanoes, Olkaira and Hobley's, with natural steam vents emanating from fissures in the volcanic rock. The landscape also showcases obsidian, a striking black glassy rock formed from cooled molten lava.

Hell's Gate is a true haven for both ornithologists and rock climbers alike. Its cliffs provide ideal breeding grounds for a variety of bird species, including vultures, Verreaux's eagles, Augur buzzards, and thousands of swifts. In fact, the park boasts a remarkable record of approximately 103 bird species documented in the area. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve

Leave Lake Naivasha after a sumptuous breakfast and drive towards the Masai Mara Game Reserve, often hailed as the crown jewel of Kenya's national parks. This expansive reserve, which is essentially an extension of the vast Serengeti plains, is renowned worldwide for its breathtaking spectacle of the great wildebeest migration. It stands as the true homeland of the magnificent big five: the Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino, and Cape Buffalo.

Upon our arrival in the reserve, we will enjoy a satisfying lunch to refuel. Following this, we embark on an exhilarating late afternoon "Spice" game drive to explore the abundant wildlife that calls this reserve home. As the day transitions into evening, we gather around the campfire or lodge before indulging in an excellent dinner, allowing us to unwind and savor the natural beauty of the Masai Mara. Dinner and overnight at your booked lodge.

Day 5 & 6: Explore Masai Mara Game Reserve

A full day in Masai Mara promises an exciting and immersive safari experience with diverse wildlife, stunning landscapes, and memorable activities. Your day begins with an early wake-up call, usually before sunrise. This is to maximize your chances of spotting wildlife when they are most active. After breakfast, you experienced Grayton Expedition driver guide will be waiting for you in your customized safari vehicle for a full day of adventure. This is an excellent time to witness predators on the hunt, as well as to see various herbivores like zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes. As the sun rises over the savannah, you'll have opportunities to spot the Big Five, which include lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinoceros. You may also see cheetahs, hyenas, and a wide range of bird species. If you visit during the Great Migration (usually from July to October), you might witness the dramatic river crossings of wildebeests and zebras at the Mara River. This is a spectacle you won't forget. Back at your accommodation, you'll have dinner, which is often a buffet or a set menu featuring both local and international cuisine. After a full day of adventure, you'll retire to your comfortable room or tent for a well-deserved night's rest, listening to the sounds of the African wilderness. Dinner and overnight at same lodge.

Day 7: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi

Begin today with a complete English breakfast at your Camp/lodge, followed by a ‘Spice’ game drive en-route to Nairobi. The balance of the day is at leisure for last-minute assisted shopping and sightseeing.Meal Plan (Breakfast).
