5 Days Samburu National
Reserve & Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Samburu National Reserve and Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Embarking on a safari in Samburu and Ol Pejeta promises an immersive journey into the heart of Kenya's diverse landscapes and wildlife-rich reserves. The adventure begins in Samburu, a region characterized by its arid beauty and unique ecosystem, providing a stark contrast to other popular safari destinations in Kenya.
Transitioning to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the landscape undergoes a transformation into a lush, green environment. Ol Pejeta is not only a sanctuary for wildlife but also a pioneering force in conservation efforts. The conservancy is home to the last two northern white rhinos on Earth, drawing attention to the critical plight of these majestic creatures. Safari-goers have the unique opportunity to witness firsthand the conservation initiatives in place, contributing to the preservation of endangered species.
One of the highlights of Ol Pejeta is the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, providing a chance to observe and learn about rescued chimpanzees in a semi-wild environment. This conservation effort underscores Ol Pejeta's commitment to the welfare of all species within its borders.

Pick up Hotel/Airport and leave for Samburu National Reserve; drive north of the Equator to Samburu National Reserve to arrive in good time for lunch and rest. In the afternoon; head for a game drive: on the edge of Kenya’s semi-desert lands where you may encounter some of the animals and vegetation that are typical of this region such as the Grevy’s Zebra, the Reticulated Giraffe, and the Somali Ostrich. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/camp of your choosing. We have plenty of options for luxury accommodation from Ashnil Samburu Tented Camp to the beautiful Samburu Simba Lodge plus many more. Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast; leave for a full day game drive carrying picnic lunch: The peaceful atmosphere and the authentic wilderness experience set it apart from the better-known wildlife reserves in Kenya, there is plentiful wildlife and the bird watching is especially good. The reserve is fairly hot and semi-arid, making for easy game viewing. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/camp.

Day 3: Samburu - Ol Pejeta

After breakfast; leave for Ol Pejeta Conservancy to arrive in good time for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, head for a game drive with a visit at the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty specimens. Dinner and overnight at the second choosing of accommodation for this safari. Choose to stay in the luxurious Sweetwaters Sanctuary tucked away along a beautiful, acacia studded river line.

Day 4: Ol Pejet Consevancy

After breakfast, head for a full-day game drive carrying a picnic lunch. The conservancy has a great number of wildlife including all the big five animals (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, and buffalo) among other games. Moreover, the camp has its own private waterhole and salt lick so we’ll be guaranteed unprecedented close encounters. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/camp of your choice.
