11 Days Luxury Safari in Tanzania & Zanzibar

Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport Arrival

Arusha Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, one of our Oltumure drivers will be there to greet you and transfer you to your hotel. This knowledgeable guide will assist you in settling in quickly, answering any initial questions you may have, and introducing you to basic Swahili phrases like "Hujambo." Take this opportunity to unwind and prepare for your upcoming safari. The package includes hotel accommodation and breakfast, but please note that dinner on your arrival day is not included, as your arrival time may be late. Any other meals you have at our hotels are included in our package.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Your adventure in Tarangire National Park begins with a hearty breakfast. This day will be filled with a full-day game drive, allowing you to explore the park fully. While Tarangire may not be as famous as some other parks, it offers an authentic and thrilling safari experience. As you embark on your journey in our executive tour vans, the hilly terrain, towering Baobab trees, and the expansive blue sky will transport you into a world of wonder, seemingly reducing the distance by a third. Here, you'll witness the breathtaking sight of herds of elephants, some numbering up to 300, congregating near Tarangire River for a drink or to cool off in a mud bath. Tarangire is also home to other magnificent creatures like leopards, lions, cheetahs, and even pythons. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted by the park's numerous bird species, providing a captivating display of avian diversity.

Day 3 & 4: Serengeti National Park

Your journey now takes you to the iconic Serengeti National Park, known for its breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. This park has likely been the backdrop for many of the African nature documentaries you've seen. The endless Serengeti plains and the sheer number of wildlife make it a truly extraordinary destination. Witnessing the annual migration of over one million wildebeest across these plains is an unforgettable experience. You'll also encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, gazelles, and zebras, all easily visible against the vast Serengeti backdrop. Consider adding a hot air balloon safari for a unique perspective of the wildlife below. Drifting gently above the plains with herds of wildlife is an incredible experience.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

Today, your journey takes you to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you'll have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife. Your route will lead you to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, where the view of the crater floor is simply indescribable. Descending into the crater is an unforgettable experience, both exhilarating and challenging, but ultimately incredibly rewarding. The landscapes are awe-inspiring, enhanced by the presence of numerous wild animals, including elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and lions. You may even spot the elusive black rhino, a rare species. Ngorongoro is, essentially, the home of the Big Five. The view from the rim down into the crater is one you'll cherish forever. The natural beauty of the Ngorongoro Crater has earned it a place among the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. During your visit, you'll also have the opportunity to explore a Maasai village, immersing yourself in the local culture.

Day 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10: Zanzibar Island

Breakfast then check out of your lodge. While bidding farewell to the Serengeti National Park, embark on a morning game drive, allowing you to observe the park's diverse wildlife, encompassing both flora and fauna. Don't miss the opportunity to witness the park's striking geographical features, including water bodies, valleys, and expansive plains. Around 1145hrs, you'll arrive at Tarangire National Park. Once you've completed the park's check-in process, set off on a game drive en route to your hotel. At 1230hrs, you'll check in at the hotel for a refreshing lunch break, followed by a leisurely 3-hour relaxation period before embarking on an evening game drive at 1530hrs. During the evening game drive, keep your eyes peeled for a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, dik-diks, impalas, and an array of bird species such as the pied kingfisher, pygmy falcon, hornbills, and storks. You may also spot reptiles like climbing tree venomous cobras, tortoises, and agama lizards. The park's dominant vegetation includes baobab trees, acacias, red oak savannah grass, and various shrubs. Return to your hotel in the evening where you’ll prepare for an early morning game drive the next day at 0600hrs within the same park.
